I am a graduate of the Ph.D. program in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Florida with a concentration in Educational Technology.

Along with a master’s degree in Linguistics and an M.B.A. emphasizing Project Management, I have over 20 years of professional experience in higher education as a curriculum and instructional designer, project manager, instructional and training manager, instructor, researcher, and academic advisor.  Each of these roles – as well as the many collaborations across the campuses where I have worked – have all uniquely contributed to my desire and commitment to furthering my professional expertise in instructional design project management; executive, faculty, and staff development; researching, designing, and implementing instructional systems; and dissemination of knowledge gained through informed research, practical experience, and active collaboration. If I can practice various foreign languages along the way, then all the better!

Given my broad, practical experience in higher education as well as my desire to be actively engaged in educational research; dissemination of knowledge; and the design and delivery of effective instructional processes, systems, and services, I made the decision in 2015 to return to school for doctoral-level training in those areas in which my education was still incomplete.  Some of those areas included: current educational research methods and theoretical frameworks, comprehensive learning theories, evidence-based pedagogical principles, and technology-rich instructional design methodologies…all of which are specialties of the University of Florida Educational Technology faculty.

In terms of my current interests, I am primarily focused on building higher levels of professional expertise in designing effective instructional solutions which integrate technology to improve instructional design, teaching, and learning effectiveness and which advance scholarship in instructional design, teaching, and learning for professional development.
